Los Banos General Dail A Ride

THE BUS – is committed to providing The City of Los Banos residents and visitors with valued transportation service. Dial-A-Ride provides curb-tocurb paratransit service as well as the general public. Dial-A-Ride offers origin to destination shared-ride service and does not require an application.

Flag Service or the practice of waving a bus down and being able to board same-day, is not permitted for this service.

Who is eligible?



Dial-A-Ride service is available to all passengers, ADA, Seniors and the General public traveling within the city of Los Banos, Dos Palos, Gustine, and Santa Nella.

Registration Information

Before your first trip can be booked, you must set up as a new client. To do this, we will need your full name, mailing address, phone number and any mobility devices used or special instructions. To register please call (209) 384-31111

Hours of Operation

Monday -Friday 5:30am – 7:30pm
Weekend / Holidays - 7:00am – 5:00 pm

The Bus does not operate on the following holiday’s:
New year’s day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

The Bus operates on Sunday / Holiday schedule on: Presidents Day, Veterans Day, the day after thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
 

Reservation and Trips
 


Reservations:

 
To request a pick up you must make a reservation by 5:00 pm the day before including weekends and serviceable holidays or up to 3 weeks in advance. Trips are booked on a first-come, first served basis. If the requested pick-up time is not available, the reservationist may negotiate your pick up time +/- 1 hour. There is no limit on the number of reservations made, however we do have a NO-SHOW Policy. Dial-ARide riders may schedule a trip for any purpose within the city of Los Banos. Trips are not prioritized, which means riders can visit a friend or relative, go to a movie, visit a doctor, or go shopping. Same day reservations are accommodated, schedule permitting with a minimum of two (2) hours advanced notice and at a higher fare of $3.00.

Making a Reservation:


When making a reservation, please be prepared to provide the following information:
• Your name
• Your phone number
• The date and time of your requested trip
• The pickup and drop off address
• Return trip requested time
• How many will be traveling
• Any special instructions the operator may need; such as gate codes or direction to a hard to find location.
• Whether you will travel with a personal care attendant, child, or companion
• Whether you will be using a mobility aid such as a wheelchair, walker, or scooter, bicycle.

Scheduled pick-up:


To meet our commitment on time performance The Bus makes every effort to arrive for a scheduled pickup within 30-minute period of time. For example, a vehicle that is on time for a 10:00 am pick up would arrive between 9:45am and 10:15 am.

PLEASE BE READY ATLEAST 15 MIN. PRIOR TO YOUR PICK-UP TIME.

The 3 or 5 minute wait rule: Once the bus arrives at the pickup location the driver is required to wait no longer than 3 minutes for ambulatory passengers and no longer than 5 minutes for non-ambulatory.

Subscription Service:


Subscription service allows you to schedule a reoccurring trip in one phone call. Subscriptions are available for medical, educational, or employment trips. You will then only have to call when you need to cancel a trip.

How Long Does a trip take?


The length of a trip varies according to several factors including the distance from origin to destination. Passengers should expect a trip to be comparable to a trip on the fixed route. Not to exceed 90 minutes.

Cancellation of a Reservation:


To avoid a No-Show please call to cancel a trip at least 2 hours before the scheduled pick-up time.
