About Car-less Commute
Car-less Commute Program promotes cleaner air and provides savings for employees (formerly know as Employer Based Transit EBT).
In addition to the normal bus routes available, Merced County Transportation (TheBus) has designed an Employee Based Transit program for businesses in Merced County. The program sets routes based on employee residences, as well as business locations, and charges employees a reasonable monthly fare for rides on the county-wide fixed route system.
In addition to the bus routes for transit to and from work, the program also offers a "Guaranteed Ride Home" to allow for personal emergencies, such as a sick child. The "Guaranteed Ride Home" means that in an emergency situation, a vehicle will be sent to pick you up to take you directly home or elsewhere, as needed.
